Publication database E-Prints

In E-Prints, professors and research assistants of HNU record their papers. These will automatically be displayed on their contact page.

E-Prints contains:

  • (e-)books
  • articles in compilations, journals and conference proceedings
  • lectures

The library will assess the items and enrich them with links to the full text (if available) and to the location in the library (if the item is part of the printed collection).

How do I log in?

Professors and research assisstants of HNU can log in at E-Prints by using their HNU computer credentials.

How do I enter new publications?

All professors and research assistants can record their publications on their own. (Alternatively, they can write an e-mail to Karen Füller and ask her to record the publication for them.)

  1. Login: On E-Prints, registered users can log in by entering their HNU computer credentials. If you do not have an account yet, you can ask the IT crew (see contacts on this page) for account creation.
  2. Publikationsverwaltung / Manage deposits
  3. Neue Publikation anlegen / new item
  4. Item Type (Article, Book, Book Section etc.)
  5. Enter the bibliographic data according to the web form *
  6. "Deposit item now"
  7. "Move to repository"

* Please note:

  • To ensure correct display of all publications on your contact page, you need to fill in the field "Creator" with your HNU e-mail address - case-sensitive and according to the respective TYPO3 mail address. This is usually all lowercased, but not always.
  • You will also need to choose between "refereed" and "not refereed". This means peer review: Only choose "refereed" if your publication has undergone a peer review.
Will someone check and correct my records?

Yes. The library receives a weekly list of new publications and checks, corrects and enriches them.

Who adds the full text link and other links?

The library adds:

  • full text links, if full text is available via open access or via license
  • links to the location in the reading room, if the publication is part of the printed collection of the library.

These links are displayed on the contact page: a cloud symbol indicates electronic full text and a book symbol indicates a printed copy in the library.

I cannot see the publication on my contact page. What can I do?
  • Make sure that the item is finished: After Deposit item now", you also need to click on "Move to repository."
  • If this is your very first publication in E-Prints, your contact page may still miss the required publication plugin in TYPO3. Please contact Mister Christian Stehle to make sure that the plugin is enabled.
  • To ensure correct display of all publications on your contact page, you need to fill in the field "Creator" with your HNU e-mail address - case-sensitive and according to the respective TYPO3 mail address. This is usually all lowercased, but not always.
