What does the course offer?

Overview

Healthcare is an industry with a bright future: life expectancy is rising, medical-technological progress is developing fast and health and healthcare services are increasingly in demand. To be able to finance increasing costs, health and healthcare facilities require business-oriented managers who focus on the special features of this industry: the duty to regard the welfare of patients; the different occupations in the healthcare field, individual financing systems; pricing regulated by the state, as well as a wide range of legal regulations.

In this context, the Bachelor programme Business Studies in Healthcare Management has been offered at the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) since the winter semester 2011/2012.

The degree programme Business Studies in Healthcare Management covers, right from the first semester, business studies with the focus on healthcare. In addition, there are courses with specialised knowledge in medicine, healthcare and therapy. In the later stages of the programme students can specialise on the main professional fields like personal, controlling, financing, information management or strategic management.
