Business Intelligence & Corporate Performance Management

Business Intelligence (BI) is a companywide IT supported concept that comprises all processes, methods, technologies and resources to collect, process and analyze internal and external company data. The product of Business Intelligence is information. This information allows companies to supervise and predict the behavior of competitors, suppliers, consumers, technologies, markets, products and services. The successful implementation of BI solutions depends on its orientation on the company goals.

Corporate Performance Management (CPM) comprises methods and tools for performance planning, measurement and control on management level, department level, processes level and employee level for a systematic performance improvement. The basis are external and internal company related data from which decision relevant information can be extracted. Therefore, Corporate Performance Management is the strategic deployment of the BI solution. Again, Business Intelligence needs Corporate Performance Management for a purposeful commitment.
