Micro Entrepreneurship

Objectives

Poverty reduction and creation of jobs

The situation

  • In developing countries, independence is often the only access to employment
  • In industrial countries, independence is frequently used as an alternative access to employment when other routes are closed
  • The successful establishment and running of a company requires many skills which are frequently missing specifically within the effected group

Research areas

  • Investigation, development and evaluation of support measures for micro-entrepreneurs
  • Development and evaluation of business opportunities for micro-entrepreneurs which create real value

  • Entrepreneurs who operate with decentralised energy systems in non-electrified regions can achieve enormous competitive advantages and, simultaneously they increase trust and awareness in the technology

Research areas

  • Development and evaluation of new business opportunities
  • Search for design options for the ongoing local development and marketing of business opportunities
