Bavaria/Swabia Technology Network (BSTN)
An association of three higher education institutions
The Bavaria/Swabia Technology Network (BSTN) is an association of the three Bavarian/Swabian Universities of Applied Sciences in Augsburg, Kempten and Neu-Ulm and the University of Augsburg. The network was founded on the initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science, Research and Art which provides these institutions with funding for personnel and materials. The network promotes cooperation in two fields of operation: Resource Efficiency and Health Care Management. Joint applications for third-party funding, a combined research congress and the planning of common courses of further academic study are the main activities of the BSTN. In both fields of operation, the HNU, as part of the BSTN, strives for further cooperation with the higher education institutions, commercial companies and associations in the Bavaria/Swabia region and beyond. BSTN partner institutions
The cooperation agreement exists between the Universities of Applied Sciences in Augsburg, Kempten and Neu-Ulm together with the University of Augsburg.
As well as projects of a regional nature, the activities of the BSTN also include projects abroad. For example, the HNU will be launching projects for the electrification of rural areas by means of renewable energies together with the University of Manila in the Philippines.
