HAW.International

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has developed a new funding programme for the internationalisation of Universities of Applied Sciences (HAW): "HAW.International".

  • students can apply for individual scholarships for a study abroad semester or a theses abroad
  • scientists, lecturers and master students can apply for a grant for international congress and fair trips

Duration of funding

  • study abroad semester: 3 to 6 months
  • stay abroad as part of a final theses: 1 to 6 months


Scholarship benefits

  • monthly scholarship rate, depending on host country
  • travel allowance, depending on host country
  • benefits for health, accident and personal liability insurance
  • for study abroad semester: subsidy for tuition fees up to an upper limit (depending on the host country)
  • for final theses: grant for travel in the host country directly related to the project
  • In addition, family benefits for accompanying spouses and children may be granted on request.


Application

  • 31.05.2019 for start of funding period on 01.08.2019
  • 31.08.2019 for start of funding period on 01.11.2019

Grant for international congress and fair trips

Applications are open to Master's students, PhD students and members of the teaching and research staff of German Universities of Applied Sciences.

The programme enables an active participation in international scientific events (symposia, conferences, congresses, etc.) abroad or at international fairs abroad.
When participating in meetings, conferences and congresses, the applicant must present his/her own recent research results.

 

Duration of fundingThe stay abroad is funded from the first to the last day of the event, for a maximum of 8 days. The number of approved days of stay abroad depends on the organiser's announcement.

 

Scholarship benefits

  • subsidy for travel expenses according to the DAAD travel allowance valid at that time
  • subsidy to the conference fees ("early bird rate") and/or refund of the visitor's ticket
  • subsidy for the costs of the stay (lump sum per proven congress day)

 

ApplicationApplications can be submitted continuously, but no later than 4 months (120 days) before the first day of the event.In order to meet the deadline, applications may initially be submitted incompletely. Certain enclosures may be submitted later.Missing enclosures must be submitted no later than 1 month (30 days) before the first day of the event.
