European Quality Label for International Mobility
The Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) has been awarded the 'E-quality label' for its successful encouragement and support of the international mobility of its students and staff for the second time. It is thus one of 12 German universities and universities of applied sciences to be distinguished in 2012 by the National Agency of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for its Erasmus programme. The HNU won this award for the first time in 2008.
Independent experts assessed criteria such as innovation, its results and advantages, the quality of the implementation and administration of the measures for facilitating mobility and their sustainability. The HNU was recognized for its holistic concept of main focal courses taught in English in the three special fields of study 'International Business Administration', 'International Management and Leadership' and 'International Logistics', partnerships with numerous universities in other European countries, the mutual recognition of exams as well as degree programmes with dual degree certificates and a Ph.D. programme.
Other success factors are the language courses, intercultural training and comprehensive counselling and support: "The ability to do an international exchange are consistently being made use of. Our students, professors, and staff are able to gain experience at over 33 partner universities", said Christian Renner, former head of the International Office.
