Audit family-friendly university
The Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences was certified as "family-friendly university" by the "berufundfamilie GmbH", an initiative of the non-profit German Hertie-foundation, on 25 August 2008.
Kick-off of the auditing process were two workshops during which the status quo of family-friendly academic and working conditions at the HNU were documented and further targets were agreed upon. The Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences was then awarded the certificate. The measures agreed upon are now being implemented within a timeframe of three years, step by step and according to plan. A considerable part was already realised during the first year. To document implementation a detailed progress report is to be prepared every year. The first annual report was submitted in August 2009. During the re-audit in August 2011 new, extensive target agreements were adopted. Since then these measures are being realised one by one. The HNU was certified as family-friendly university for the second time on 8 December 2011. The certificate was awarded during a festive ceremony in Berlin on 11 June 2012.
A team of ten people in which all status groups of the university are represented is responsible for the project.
In 2018 the HNU has now been awarded for the fourth time in a row! What a successful story for everybody who is a working or studying father or mother at the HNU!!!
