Are you new at the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences and new in town?

Housing demand in Neu-Ulm and Ulm has risen continuously due to employment density, the three universities and the central position between Munich and Stuttgart.  Even so, the real estate market of the cities Neu-Ulm and Ulm offers the chance of living in the centre and still at a reasonable price.  You should allow sufficient time to hunt for a flat. Sometimes it could make sense to contact a real estate agent.

Useful information for flat-hunting and moving

You can best find a private flat or a room in a shared flat in the Saturday edition of the two regional newspapers – „Südwest Presse“ and „Neu-Ulmer Zeitung“ –  or via notices posted at the notice board, besides the facility management department (Gebäudemanagement) on the 1st floor. The most beautiful and best accessible living areas in Ulm lie along the tramway "Linie 1". It runs from the west of Ulm to the east: Söflingen, Ulm Weststadt, Zentrum and Oststadt as well as the Eselsberg are the most preferred residential areas in town.

Formalities when moving to Ulm or Neu-Ulm

Within one week you need to register in person at the local Einwohnermeldeamt (registry office).  

If you own a car and move to a different accommodation, you need to inform the new vehicles registration office of the relocation.
