HNU and Omani students develop digital solutions for regional company
How can companies exploit the potential of digitalisation? Twelve students from the HNU and the partner university GUtech from Oman dealt with this in a compact week.
The students developed digital solutions for shop floor and order management at Georg Fischer GmbH & Co. KG based in Günzburg, a manufacturer of mobile sales vehicles. After an intensive analysis of the task and interviews with employees and customers, the students developed digital solutions, realized software prototypes and tested them with employees and customers.
For Petra Fischer Steber, Managing Director of Georg Fischer GmbH & Co. KG, the cooperation project with the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences, in which new solutions for the digitalisation of the company were developed and implemented, was a complete success: "We are thrilled how students not only managed to understand the complexity of our processes in just five days, but also managed to work out concrete suggestions for improvement and implement them using real prototypes.
Oliver Stipar from IHK Schwaben sees this project as an excellent transfer of know-how between the HNU and companies in the region: "I am sure that the students' solutions will not only support and advance Georg Fischer GmbH, but also other companies on the way to digitalisation in the future. “
