First Argentine students for joint degree programme in Neu-Ulm
Three semesters, two countries, one Master's degree programme.
Ten Argentine students have come to Neu-Ulm for the start of the new international Master of Business Intelligence and Business Analytics degree programme at the HNU. They will spend their first semester together with fellow German students, getting to know German culture and learning the combined subjects of IT and management. the HNU offers the degree programme together with the Argentine Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN).
We spoke with two of the ten students who come from two UTN locations in Mendoza and San Rafael – Sandra Tagarelli and Julián Tazare. The latter told us, "I learned German in Argentina, but I've never actually been in Germany itself, so when I found out about this Master's degree programme on which I could learn the subjects that interest me, I came here right away." Ms. Tagarelli added: "Before the master's programme I was working in business intelligence consultancy, so I can broaden that real-world expertise during the programme here – and I can get to know the European culture at the same time." In addition to their studies, both students have quite a lot on their wish lists: Lake Constance, Berlin, the Bavarian mountains and castles and climbing the Ulmer Münster.
During the new Business Intelligence and Business Analytics international Master's programme, students learn about the systematic collection, analysis and presentation of data and how to plan and develop innovative concepts for BI strategies, organisation and architectures using cutting-edge technologies.
A mandatory stay abroad also gives students intercultural skills and prepares them for international professional activities. The first semester of the Master's programme takes place at the HNU, while the second is carried out at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional Regional Mendoza y Regional San Rafael in Argentina. For their stay in Argentina, students can receive financial support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
