Castle Vöhlin Seminar Centre of the Bavarian-Swabian Universities of Applied Sciences

The Castle Vöhlin Seminar Centre in the town of Illertissen is  an imposing location for events run by the Bavarian-Swabian Universities of Applied Sciences Augsburg, Kempten and Neu-Ulm, such as executive and further eduaction, seminars, lectures, conferences and cultural events.

What it can be used for

About 1000 square metres of rooms in the Castle Vöhlin Seminar Centre can be used for:

Setting up a business
Completely equipped office with three workplaces for student start-ups.

Postgraduate professional training and courses.
Workshop and training programmes for students, business-leadership workshops, strategy workshops, trainings for university of applied sciences employees

Conferences and meetings
Panel discussions, business talks, meetings and conferences of the executive board and panels, departments, HNU centres and facilities and serives as well as companies, associations and organisations

Art and culture
Studium Generale, interdisciplinary programme, exhibitions by regional artists, festive events.

Five seminar rooms for up to 24 participants each, two conference rooms for up to 100 participants each, as well as a lobby and two foyers are available in the Castle Vöhlin Seminar Centre. In addition, a 'start-up room' can be offered to student start-up teams. All rooms have been equipped with the latest media and presentation equipment. The universities of applied sciences of Augsburg, Kempten and Neu-Ulm can use the castle free of charge.

Getting here and parking

The town of Illertissen is located near the three universities of applied sciences Augsburg, Kempten and Neu-Ulm and can be reached from each in a thirty to sixty minutes' drive.

Public transport
From the Illertissen train station, the bus lines 920, 701 and 813 go to the castle. Get off at the 'Rathaus' (town hall) stop. From the stop, walk about 400 meter to the castle.

Alternative: Walk from the station to the Castle Vöhlin Seminar Centre (about 15 minutes).

Coming by car
Take the A7 motorway, exit Illertissen, exit the roundabout at 'Vöhlinschloss, Museen', in the direction of the town centre, then take the 'Schlossallee' on the left-hand side.

'Staatsstraße' (state road) 2031: In Illertissen, at the 'Hirschkreuzung' (main crossroads) follow the signs to the 'Rathaus' (town hall), continue uphill; take the next side road to the right, the 'Schlossallee'.

Illertissen, centre of town: There are signs showing the way for pedestrians to the museum of local history, beginning at the 'Steige' (uphill road) in the 'Vöhlinstrasse'

Parking
There is place to park right in front of the hotel at the castle. It is also possible to park along the 'Schlossallee' (but only uphill and on the right-hand side) and the 'Vöhlinstrasse'. There are more parking areas in the centre of the town in front of the 'Schranne/ Rathaus' (town hall). Cars may not drive into the inner courtyard of the castle.
