We at the International Office are delighted about the increasing numbers of students from other countries who come here to study. As a central facility at the university, we offer advice and support both before your arrival and throughout your stay here. From your own country you can download the necessary forms as well as our information brochure "Welcome!" with useful tips about studying and living in Neu-Ulm and Ulm.
We offer an intensive German language course which starts three weeks before the start of the winter semester and one week before the start of the summer semester; parallel to this, we offer an orientation programme which includes an introduction to the university facilities and our support in registering here and at the local government office for residents, in obtaining valid health insurance and opening a bank account here. By taking part in the social activities organised during this time, you will quickly get to know your German and international fellow students as well as the town of Neu-Ulm and the city of Ulm. This also offers you the opportunity to use what you have learnt in the German course in everyday situations.
Once lectures have started we continue to invite you to events held regularly for our international students. The "International Coffee Hour" is a regular meeting point for all students as well as the teaching staff. There are also several excursions to interesting destinations in Germany organised in conjunction with the two universities in Ulm.
