During the evenings, there is a wide choice of music event in the bars and pubs around the Ulm Town Hall (Rathaus), in the Fischerviertel and in the centre of Ulm. Apart from the "Roxy" which offers a mix of cultural events and the Ulm Marquee Festival (Ulmer Zeltfestival) which organises six weeks of music and cabaret in the summer, there are a number of smaller cultural venues.

In Cat Café and in Charivari a wide variety of music styles can be heard; the live venues for Indie-Rock and Electronic are Büchsenstadel and Pufferbar. Those who prefer Punk and Hardcore will find what they want in "Beteigeuze". Music events of a smaller nature can be found in the cafés "Fortschritt" (Beat, Pop, Indie) und "Café d’ Art" (Soul, Blues). In the Wiley-Club, an ex-US Officers’ club there are regular jazz and rock events. Smaller open-air Rock & Pop concerts can be heard in the Glacis Park in Neu-Ulm, where in summer a number of regional bands appear.
