We support our exchange students in finding a room in a local student hostel (Wohnheim) or in a shared flat (Wohngemeinschaft). If you are interested, please state in your application form (page 5, no 7) that you would like to get support for your housing research from our side.

Apart from the student hostel, there are other opportunities to find private accommodation. There is a house-sharing service (Mitwohnzentrale) which organises furnished rooms on a short term basis.

Flats – usually unfurnished – can best be found on Wednesdays and Saturdays in local newspapers or on the noticeboards near the Study and Information Centre.

If you need a place to short-term stay until you have found a room or flat, you can apply to the local youth hostel (Jugendherberge), or a local guest house (Pension) or hotel (Hotel):
